Description

Scolopendra longipes (formerly S. alternans) is the largest US centipede other than S. heros. Treat these as venomous. Don’t get bitten. They are fast and their movements are erratic. Body length on these beauties is around 4 inches (they are longer if you count legs and antennae). They grow to 5 to 6 inches.
