Description
Theatops species are referred to as Forceps Centipedes at Joseph DeSisto’s Blog. They are red-orange in coloration and may reach as much as 2 inches but I’ve not necessarily seen a full-grown specimen. The most interesting aspect about them is their terminal legs. These are short and thick and terminate in a distinct point. This point probably serves both defensive and offensive purposes, but it is a morphologically unique detail among the centipedes seen in the hobby.
