Description
The Roma tomato is a plum tomato with a egg or pear shape, sometimes known as the Italian Plum Tomato. Typically the Roma is available in red and yellow and has few seeds and lots of flesh. It is bred from the San Marzano plum tomato which is often referred to as the ‘best paste tomato in the world’. Plum tomatoes are usually used in sauces and pastes for Mediterranean cooking.
